AI Readiness: can an assistant actually read your site?
Before visibility is a strategy, it is a technical question: can AI crawlers reach your site, and do they understand what is there? The AI Readiness audit checks exactly that, and nothing else.

Score per category, findings with severity and the affected URLs alongside.
How it works
- →Crawler access: do GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot get allowed in robots.txt, and does your firewall not block them by accident?
- →Rendering: is your content visible without JavaScript? Many AI crawlers run no JavaScript.
- →Answer structure and structured data: question-shaped headings, the answer up top, and valid schema so a model can reliably take over facts.
- →Citability and freshness: facts with a date and an author get cited; unfounded opinions do not.
Why it is built this way
This is deliberately no general SEO audit; the established crawlers won that race long ago. The audit looks only at what determines AI visibility. Surprisingly many sites block AI crawlers by accident, often through a security setting someone once switched on; that single finding already justifies the audit. And every finding flows through to the work list with a concrete instruction.
The firewall that makes you invisible
The most important check of the whole module is crawler access. A large share of sites block GPTBot or ClaudeBot by accident, usually through a Cloudflare setting someone once switched on against 'AI scrapers'. The result: the assistant cannot read the site and therefore never mentions the brand, while nobody understands why. One line in robots.txt or one checkbox in the firewall solves it.
What it is not
the boundary, on purposeThis is no Screaming Frog and no Ahrefs Site Audit; those tools do broad technical SEO better and that is a race we do not want to win. The audit stays narrow: only what determines AI visibility. The classic technique check is in it as basic hygiene, kept short, because it is not the product.
A site that cannot be read cannot be cited.
Frequently asked questions
How does this differ from an ordinary SEO audit?
An SEO audit measures a hundred things that mainly count for Google. AI Readiness measures only what determines whether an assistant can read and cite your site: crawler access, rendering without JavaScript, answer structure, structured data and citability. Narrow and defensible, exactly the category the classic tools still barely cover.
Which crawlers do you check?
Among others GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and CCBot: are they allowed in robots.txt, and does a WAF or Cloudflare not block them anyway. That is the most important check in the module.
Do I have to let my site be crawled to use this?
Yes, with a friendly crawler of our own and a page limit per plan. You authorise your domain explicitly before anything happens; that is proper and legally sensible, and the findings then land straight on your work list.
